Data Analytics for Operations at Berkeley Lab

Berkeley Lab uses SkySpark® to automatically process, analyze, visualize, and monitor its building systems, which enables:

• Visualizing large amounts of data over time, and in context, which helps investigate issues and system interactions

• Comparing building systems across the Lab, rather than viewing solely on a building-by-building basis

• Performing sophisticated analyses, for example by integrating additional parameters such as weather data

• Prompt identification of and response to issues through strategic, custom alerts that efficiently monitor building operations, avoiding the need to navigate the flood of nuisance alarms that come with traditional building systems

• Maintaining performance and savings through continuous automated monitoring
